Graphic Composition, Inc. (GCI) was founded in 1974 to provide economical high-quality typesetting for the often-difficult books published by university presses. Over the past 30+ years, we have expanded our client base and the range of our services and now offer complete project management, editing, book design, graphics, electronic prepress, typesetting, and digital output services to all publishers of books and journals.
__________We Offer Quality and Value
Our typesetting department has members with over 20 years of individual experience. Their craftsmanship as typographers was developed under the tutelage and guidance of Dwight Agner. Our approach to the design of a book is classical. Unless the customer requests otherwise, our minimalist approach to design will make each project distinctive, yet not overwhelm the message of the author(s)/editor(s). This attention to detail can be seen in other aspects of the quality of the project, such as the letter fit. We have invested thousands of hours in the kerning of our fonts since 1974. Our efforts have been directed to make certain that the appearance of a page of type from GCI represents the highest standards in typography.
The academic backgrounds of our in-house and freelance manuscript editors are carefully matched to each project submitted to us. From highly technical, mathematical and tabular-intensive academic analysis, to the colloquial language of regional novels, our editors work closely with your authors to maintain the integrity of their writing style.
