__________Project Management

Many of our customers take advantage of our editorial and design services to reduce the workload on their own staff. We provide a full range of services such as book and jacket design, manuscript copyediting, proofreading, author contact, and indexing.

Our experienced project managers oversee each step of the production process. We have specialists in numerous fields, including business, economics, scholarly papers, management, accounting, humanities, and other fields both academic and popular. We will coordinate each editorial stage, supervise scheduling, act as author liaison, organize author and publisher revisions, and direct the myriad details that are a part of each project.

__________Book and Jacket Design

GCI offers complete design services for all types of books, including textbooks, trade, psychological reference, economics compendia, scholarly papers, and monographs. Given the content, purpose, and audience for the book, we create an original, comprehensive, and effective text design. We also offer jacket design and preparation.

__________Manuscript Copyediting

If your manuscript is essentially complete, our staff can apply the final polish. We will work with your copy, checking for grammar, syntax, spelling, usage, and mechanics, and cross-checking internal references. We will also check for clarity and fluency in the writing, correcting awkwardness and redundancies where necessary. We ensure that the manuscript conforms to the requested style guide, and make any necessary marks and instructions for the typesetter. Substantive Editing, involving reorganization and/or partial rewriting, is also available.

Our in-house editors will correspond directly with the author if you wish, and can coordinate author and publisher revisions to help keep your project trouble-free and on schedule.

__________Proofreading

Proofreading is the final step in the editorial process. It involves the identification and correction of punctuation and spelling errors, typographical errors (including table placement, footnote callouts, levels of heads, cross-references, etc.), and formatting inconsistencies.

__________Indexing

We provide quick turnaround and reasonable rates for professional indexing services. We can prepare your index from page proofs, or verify page references in an author-created index.
